In the last post, I left off telling you the conversation I had with Pitt County District Attorney, Faris Dixon. Let’s get back to that, because what he said next… 😮👀🤔 Mmm Hmm. Wait for it.
I hung up from that call after Dixon claimed he had a report from the local medical examiner, Dr. Karen Kelly, and I immediately called the ME’s office. The office manager answered the phone and I asked her about the ME’s report. Not only could she not find it, she could not find any information in their system on my daughter, Keisha White.
The office manager searched by Keisha’s first name, last name, date of birth, date of death, place of death… She searched in every way she could, and throughout the process, she said (in a number of ways) the same sentiment, “I really don’t think he has that, because I can not find anything in our system.” In my world, that equates to, “That man is lying his ass off.”
The office manager asked questions as she searched. “What is the date on the report?” He said he couldn’t tell me. “Who signed it?” He said he couldn’t tell me. “Well, how does he expect me to find anything?” she exclaimed before saying again, “I don’t think he has anything. I can’t find any information in our system and we would have something.”

The office manager then put someone else on the phone; a male worker , though I do not remember his name. He told me they would look into what was going on and to call back in a few days. This was on a Monday, I believe, because I asked, “Call you back Thursday?” He said, “Just give us a few days.” I said, “Okay, I will call you back Wednesday.”
Wednesday arrived and I called the ME’s office like I said I would. The office manager answered again. She said they contacted the DA’s office and she was told they had to “find” the report. Mmm Hmm. Then she said again, “I really don’t think they have it.”
A few days later, I believe on the following Monday, and I also think we are in the month of July by now, Dixon called me and said, “I have good news!!” “What?” I asked with a bit of attitude. “I’m going to submit the evidence to the medical examiner.”
What? 😮 Did he forget that he told me he already had a report from the ME the last time we’d spoke? I was getting ready to remind him, “But you said…” when he abruptly cut me off and barked, “Do you want me to send the evidence or not?!”
Y’all, there were so many things inside of me at that moment. I wanted to cuss that man slam out! I wanted to call him on his bullcrap. But this man, the only one with power in this situation, had something I needed… the power to lock up Linda Brixon… or at least get the ball rolling in that direction.
So, I humbled myself, and said, “Yes, sir.” I felt abused and violated, because I felt if I defended myself he would just back up and end everything there. I needed his power. (Big sigh!)
Before I continue with the story, let’s go back and consider a few things. Faris Dixon and I had gotten into an argument about whether or not Linda Brixon’s actions constituted a crime against my daughter. In my opinion, to win the argument, Dixon claimed to have evidence that he did not have. My question is this: How many times has he told that lie? And is anyone serving time in prison today because he lied about evidence that he did not have?
See, these are the questions that authorities do not want asked in a public forum. It is better for the SBI and FBI to downplay what is going on. It is better for oversight agencies (like the NC Bar and Ethics Commission) to turn a blind eye and act like they did not hear what I said or read what I complained about.
And it is not just with Faris Dixon. It is with all of them. There are so many individuals who chose to help cover for their peers, friends, and associates rather than perform the job they signed up for. It is not my fault that this whole thing has gotten as big as it has gotten.
Even if we go all the way back to ECU Health’s risk manager, Vicki Haddock, “reporting” to the SBI, how did she know to contact those specific agents? Were they her go-to in cases involving criminal liability? She said she reports to them “in cases like this.”
From that point forward, ECU Health has had to cast their “safety net” further and further as others were brought in for the sole purpose of protecting what others did before they, themselves, got involved. Their actions simultaneously prevented my voice from being heard and ensured justice could not be served for the killing of my child. Members of the whole damn state are involved in this mess!
