Torture
Keisha White complained to a care partner that she was having difficulty breathing, and we know from reports that Keisha was denied oxygen despite doctors orders. When interviewed by DHHS, the CP stated, “I told the nurse she was having trouble breathing. [The nurse] didn’t listen to what I was saying.” A few hours later, Keisha was put in vest and wrist restraints and strapped to the bed WITHOUT being given oxygen.
In another post, I told you that it was reported that Keisha’s inflated urinary catheter was “accidentally” pulled out, and it took the nurse 57 minutes to administer pain meds. (You can read that Here.) The DHHS reported statements from workers that she was in “a lot of pain,” and another worker described Keisha’s pain as “excruciating.”
I’ll tell y’all this… I am in tears writing these blog posts. I can’t fathom the agony Keisha was subjected to, and neither can I imagine what her mother is feeling as she recounts information to me. This is much worse than the police shootings in the news. At least those victims didn’t duffer long. Don’t misunderstand!! I am not reducing any of those situations!! They were all horrible and my heart goes out to the victims and their families. I’m just saying that Keisha suffered most of a 12 hour shift. She wasn’t afforded the “gift” of dying instantly.
Is it torture if a nurse takes a patient who can barely breathe and strap them to a bed while refusing oxygen and cardiac leads even though the nurse was AWARE the leads were not connected and AWARE the patient’s oxygen has dropped to critical levels? Did Keisha Marie White suffer a TORTUROUS death at the hands of her oath-taking nurse, Linda Leathers Brixon? In my opinion, SHE ABSOLUTELY DID!!
Willful, Deliberate, and Premeditated
I believe Linda Brixon received her nursing license in 1991. Keisha White was killed died in 2014. That’s a lot of experience. We’re not talking about a new nurse or a young nurse who’s still learning. We’re talking about a SEASONED nurse with over 20 years experience who HAD to know the effects of her actions. I mean, who the hell doesn’t know that if a person goes without oxygen long enough, and proper oxygen is not available, the person will die. Even a child understands that.
A nurse with over 20 years experience HAD to know that the importance of cardiac leads is to alert staff that the patient is or may be in trouble. Among other things, the leads will tell them the second a patient’s heart stops beating. According to Keisha’s mother, the nurse NEVER mentioned anything about the cardiac leads not being connected when she came to the room. That “the patient is refusing” leads is a LIE. That statement to the BON that the patient wiggles out of the leads or pulled them off after being restrained is a LIE. And this bitch has the Greenville Police Department believing the damn LIES.
Denying Keisha oxygen was a WILLFUL act. The silencing of the cardiac monitor so no one in the room would notice Keisha was in trouble was a DELIBERATE act. Returning to the room when no one else was in there, then silencing the monitor on the technician’s end, was a PREMEDITATED act.
We can’t say with absolute certainty that Brixon silenced the monitor either time, but we can say who we THINK did it; Linda Brixon. Who else would do it, and who else behaved with evil intentions? Staff who were interviewed already told on her about other actions (or lack thereof) via the interview with DHHS. What? She’s responsible for every other action EXCEPT this one?
The Law
NC law states that a murder by TORTURE, or that is “WILLFUL, DELIBERATE, and PREMEDITATED shall be deemed to be murder in the first degree.
Conclusion
The facts speak for themselves. I can’t make this stuff up. Please share this post. Justice has NOT been served, and NO charges have been filed. What if YOU were Keisha? What if you were Keisha’s mother? As long as doctors and/or nurses are held above the law, this type of treatment can and will happen again. The next time, it might be YOU or YOUR baby, YOUR brother, YOUR mother, YOUR grandfather, or YOUR wife. And YOU would want the law on YOUR side. SHARE THIS! ~ THANK YOU!!!
